Sydney’s historic and heritage-listed Cockatoo Island preserves 200 years of changing use as prison, shipbuilding facility and dockyard

Under the auspices of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, the island is being revitalised as a landmark harbour attraction. The trust is progressively opening the site up to the public and leasing many of the island’s buildings and facilities. Freeman Ryan Design has contributed to the project by designing the visitor orientation area in the Muster Station and historical and wayfinding panels in The Plaza.
