Carolinas Aviation Museum

Charlotte, North Carolina

As part of Charlotte International Airport, the Carolinas Aviation Museum has a history that reaches back to the origins of aviation yet today stands at the hub of the multifaceted world of contemporary aviation, with the latest in aircraft design and technology arriving at and departing from the museum’s doorstep every minute. FRD was engaged to develop a vision for a major redevelopment of the museum.

The museum has recently acquired the US Airways A320 which crashed into the Hudson River in January 2009. FRD is currently designing a visitor experience explaining the event, the response and the broader story of air travel safety.
