A major redevelopment of this museum, currently operating from a former hangar at Blue Grass Airport, will see the museum move to a new, more visible and accessible site at the airport and into a new purpose-designed museum building. Working in close collaboration with the architects and engineers, Freeman Ryan Design has carried out the detailed conceptual and masterplanning for the new museum. A key feature of our approach is the creation of a series of innovative, immersive interactive experiences that will bring the collection and the history of aviation in Kentucky to life as well as provide specific flight training that combines the fundamentals of flight with practical experience. |
