The Cairns Gateway was created as an alternative resource for visitors to explore the many activities and places of interest in and around Cairns. Unlike other tourist information centres in central Cairns, which focus of the sale of accommodation and tours, the Cairns Gateway provides a complete and authoritative range of destinations and activities. With the aim of encouraging longer stays in the region, the displays feature dramatic photography, text and maps, specially produced video and multimedia presentations, and touchscreen interactives.
